Coyote: A Trickster Tale from the American Southwest

Written and Illustrated by Gerald McDermott

Coyote wanted to fly like the crows, so they humored him by making him feathers and teaching him how to fly. But Coyote's boasting makes the crows angry, and they decide to teach him a lesson. While Coyote's in midair, they remove his feathers one by one, causing him to fall to the ground. His coat remains the color of dust permanently.
